Starting An eBay Business :: Assist2Auction Review
Assist2Auction Review: An eBay Consignment Store On WheelsAssist2Auction is a home business opportunity that is currently making the rounds, mostly through mail order. It is nothing more or less than an eBay consignment store - on wheels. Let's look at the costs of this dubious business .. The Costs Of Assist2Auction1. For slightly less than $17,900 you can receive Assist2Auction training and various pieces of equipment, like a video cam ...{"proprietary TRAK-it software plus photo editing software to facilitate the easy operation of your home-based business, along with your A2A designated professional digital camera with accessories; portable photo studio lighting kit; marketing material start-up kit; classroom/lab training"}. You must travel to take this training, though, and hotels, meals, transportation, etc., are extra. We recently bought a really good video cam with more accessories than anyone could ever want - the package recommended by a video professional - for under $600. Software for managing auctions ... $10/month. Photo editing software ... try irfanview.com for free. Overall, very expensive stuff. 2. Assist2Auction is an eBay mobile consignment business. Making money in the consignment business, wherein sellers bring their goodies to you, is tough enough. With this model, you must go to the sellers. This means you must also incur the expense of a van. And to impress potential customers, you must have a fairly decent van - no old clunkers. This is, of course, a considerable additional expenditure. 3. The picture on the slick, glossy, literature for this opportunity shows a nice van that is clearly handpainted with the company information. More expense for the decoration - of somebody else's company, we might add! 4. And let's not forget the cost of gasoline these days! 5. Then comes the real biggie ... advertising! How will an Assist2Auction franchisee advertise his business so that he can find hordes of folks who want to sell on eBay and don't want to be bothered to learn how? And yes, he will need hordes to recover just the initial expenses of setting up this consignment business. Will he advertise on: * The radio? 6. And who pays the eBay fees, whether the item sells or not? All expensive and/or time consuming propositions. The Profits Of This eBay Consignment Store On WheelsAnd now about potential profit: many experts in the consignment business recommend a minimum threshold of $50 for items. How much is profit to our Assist2Auction owner? * Typically, the owners of the goods receive a 35% commission. Of course that is negotiable, but that range is certain appropriate and average. * Secondly, the owners of Assist2Auction will receive a "low" amount that isn't specified. If we assume this low amount is 15%, then our poor franchise owner will receive the gigantic sum of ... $25! Of course, the dollars may vary slightly. But I can't see how the owner can get this business set up for less than $30,000, and perhaps more. At $25 profit on each sale, he will need 1200 sales just to recoup his costs. And of course this doesn't include ongoing costs like continued advertising, gas, telephone, somewhere to store the consigned goods and more. Can it be done? Of course - almost any business will work for somebody, somewhere. Are the odds, good? NO!!! For a fraction of this cost, someone wanting their own business can learn How To Sell On eBay, find a supplier and start their own business. In that case, their only obligation is to themselves! Why do you need Assist2Auction?
