eBay Problems: Having Problems
on eBay Can Be Frustrating
eBay problems are very common on the giant auction site, unfortunately. Part of the reason for user frustration is that eBay has purposely made itself inaccessible. So, when there is a problem it's aggravating because the frustrated user can't talk to a human being. It's easier for Power Sellers because they have access to live support - which is a powerful reason to become a major seller.
For some reason, we often get emails from folks who think that we are eBay, or that we have an inside line to their support staff, like the message below:
"i set a friend up on ebay by using my credit card details there is money coming from my account to ebay with no explaination she has not bought or sold anything fom ebay so id like a reply back 2 this message also id like this money credited back 2 my acoount and my friends ebay account cancelled thankyou"
If you have a problem, here are some steps you can take:
* Use eBay's contact form first:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/contact_inline/index.html The form states that, "In certain cases you may be offered live help."
* Here is their customer support link:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/welcome/about-support.html * About error messages and technical problems, such as not being able to log into your account:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/welcome/error-ov.html
* The eBay Security Center discusses such issues as how to spot those stupid fake emails that threaten to 'close your account' if you don't fill in their online form or how to protect your account:

* Law enforcement and other resources, which includes:
- PayPal Security Center
-
Federal Trade Commission
-
Internet Fraud Complaint Center
-
TRUSTe (Privacy watchdog group endorsing eBay practices)
-
SquareTrade (Dispute resolution provider for eBay members to resolve issues between buyers and sellers)

* Write a letter to eBay at:
eBay Inc.
2145 Hamilton Avenue
San Jose, California 95125
* You can try this phone number, but you won't get a live person. At least you can leave a message:
1-800-322-9266
If you can wind your way through the maze, your eBay problems will eventually be resolved. Just don't give up!
