McCormick Deering Sales Are Brisk!

McCormick Deering sales are alive and very, very well on eBay! McCormick Deering tractors and binders were widely used on farms, especially in the midwest, in the late eighteen hundreds and early nineteen hundreds. These rugged tractors were built to last a lifetime, and many of them have. The tractor was originally designed to run on a mixture of water and kerosene (sometimes called distillate). There was a small tank on the back of the fuel tank near the operators station which was filled with gas. The gas was used only for starting, and then the engine was switched over to kerosene, and maybe a little water.

The rugged tractor appeals to many collectors today and sales are very brisk. This McCormick Deering, for example, started at only $100 and eventually sold for $2,175:

A 1929 tractor sold for $1,775 and had a whopping 29 bids, while a 1992 went for $2101 with 18 bids.

But it's not just the tractors themselves which sell well. In fact, due to the rarity of these prized items, most of the McCormick Deering sales are not in the tractors themselves.

On a page with 100 items, there were only 7 that did not have bids. Generally, the older items sold better than the newer ones, but there is a brisk trade even in McCormick Deering decals and tin match boxes.

If you can find a source, McCormick Deering tractors, parts, books, and other memorabilia are as good as market as I have seen on eBay in ten years of selling.
