GA Tech Collectibles: Georgia Tech Memorabilia Has A Market on eBay
GA Tech collectibles, featuring memorabilia and favorite objects from Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, do brisk sales on eBay.
For instance, this Rose Bowl football ticket stub from 1929 (which originally sold for $5 - can you believe it?) received 27 bids and a hefty $517 winning bid.

Another ticket from the same game, "THE WRONG-WAY RUN BY CALIFORNIA BEAR CENTER ROY RIEGEL OPENED THE DOOR FOR GEORGIA TECH TO SCORE A SAFETY & EVENTUALLY WIN THE GAME 8-7 TAKING THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP" sold for $235.50, less than half the price of the one above.
There have been auctions for basketballs signed by BJ Elder and Luke Schenscher + eight other team members which sold for $190 and $143.50. A signed jersey of the team sold for $149.99 while one worn by Tony Hargrove brought $102.95.
There are other sales, though, that definitely reflect a strong interest in Tech:
* A Tech Football Quilt sold for $49.88 with 7 bids
* A "Huge Lot of Ga. Tech College Accessories" sold for $54.88
* A "1965 Gator Bowl Program Ga. Tech vs. Texas Tech EX" went for $44.30
* A 1957 football program when Bobby Dodd was still the GA Tech coach
Other popular items are bracelets with yellow jackets on them; GA Tech jackets (even in warmer weather); lots of copies of the "Yellow Jacket", the student magazine with such notables as Arthur Godfrey and Gregory Peck; vintage post office box doors from the student center; beer mugs; football stadium plaques; a "bumble bee vase" (seriously! not kidding!); GA Tech 75th anniversary coke bottles; even a stained glass lamp.
These GA Tech collectibles auctions give a flavor of what is sought by fans. Clearly, the sports memorabilia brings the biggest rewards.
