The only problem is that most sellers do not intuitively know who is going to buy small HDTV sets. The large-scale marketing campaigns have built an image of HDTV as large-screen, cinema-like entertainment that is hardly appropriate for 20” or 26” screens that are typical for small HDTV sets. As the result sellers have often hard time writing a good listing – one that would appeal to the right customers. So, who buys small HDTV sets? There are two categories of people who'd rather get a small screen over the 72” ones. First of all, there are young people, especially students who simply don't have enough space for larger screens.

In their case the quality of the product or its longevity is secondary to the price and the size. Most of young adults hope that in a year or two they will move to a larger flat and then buy a new, bigger HDTV set. They don't really care what is going to happen with the small one then.

Another category of buyers are those who buy the second (or the third) HDTV set. They have one in their living room and now they want to have another in the bedroom or kitchen. They want them to be more expensive, but superior. Those people are thinking long-term and care a lot about the quality of the product and less about the size – they can be easily convinced to buy models with slightly larger screens instead of the smallest of the small HDTV sets with 15” screens.

As the result, if you want to start selling small HDTV sets on eBay, you have to choose one of the client categories and make your offer and listings meet the expectations of a chosen group.
Generally selling small HDTV sets to young adult is a little easier – for one, most of them have nothing against buying things through the Internet – but there is much more money to make by selling HDTV stuff to the second group.
