Construction Equipment - Used: 3 Tips For Selling Used Construction Equipment
Tip 1: ... And The Truth Shall Make Ye Free
People will buy construction equipment. Used or not, they will buy it. There aren't many companies that will consider using the same crane for twenty years – everyone expects to grow and buy a new set of construction equipment in the following few years. Used cranes or backhoes will be then sold out to smaller companies that will sell them away a few years after that. The bottom line: tell the truth about the state your items are in. You will find the buyers anyway, but using half-truths is the best way out of this business – two negative feedbacks and you're cooked.

Tip 2: Make a good impression
When you prepare your listing, make sure that it is made with potential customers in mind. Construction equipment, used or not, is not something you sell to the general public.
You have to convince managers or company owners, not an average US resident. Above all, be professional. You might put a few friendly words about yourself or a few general sentences about the company whose construction equipment you're selling, but you have to give your listing professional feeling.
Good pictures, clean layout and proper colors will do wonders – for one, they will make people place higher bids even on used items. Tip 3: Use Detailed Photos
Construction equipment, especially if it has been used, usually have some minor glitches, scratches or it is thought to have some. You have to remember to take detailed pictures of all parts that are known to break down in the specific model you're selling. This will serve two purposes: first, it will make you look more professional. Secondly, you will minimize the amount of questions you will have to answer – most of them will be about those very parts. Construction equipment, especially if it has been used a lot, is likely to raise suspicions and the pictures are the best way to calm them down.
