Health And Fitness News Articles: Share The Latest Fitness & Health News By Publishing Articles

Health and fitness news articles are available on the Internet almost as soon as they come out, meaning that it is now easier than ever to keep up with current trends in health and fitness. This is especially important in today’s health conscious society, as people are now more concerned with becoming and staying healthy and fit. But even with the huge input of new research and studies being conducted, some health and fitness guidelines are tried and tested, already proven by time.

For instance, we all have heard that we should drink eight glasses of water a day. And, truly, water is one of the most essential nutrients for human survival. Our blood is 82% water, our lungs 90%, and the human brain is a whopping 95 percent of water! Without water, a human being would die of dehydration within a few days.

In fact, even just a few percent’s drop in our body’s water can trigger the symptoms of mild dehydration. A fuzzy short-term memory, problems with basic arithmetic, and eyesight trouble, especially focusing on small print (such as those on computer screens) are just some of these symptoms. Mild dehydration is also the most common cause of daytime fatigue. So we should really make sure that we get enough water during the day.

Water can also help with weight loss. Studies have shown that decreased water intake can be linked to increased stores of fat in the body. Water naturally suppresses the appetite, and also helps the body to metabolize stored fat. How, you might ask, does water help a person lose fat?

Well, water, as mentioned above, is required for most of the body’s processes. The kidneys, in particular, require an adequate supply of water if they are to filter out toxins efficiently. Without enough water, some of the burden of cleaning up the body falls to the liver. One of the liver’s main functions is -- you guessed it -- to metabolize stored fat into usable energy! So, if the kidneys are not functioning well due to a lack of water, then the liver and fat metabolism is also adversely affected.

Eight glasses of water in a day may sound like a lot, but it really isn’t. Just keep some water readily accessible, and you will be surprised at how much you can drink in a day. And you can’t have too much water, since any excess water can readily be passed out of the body.

Health and fitness news articles may deliver the latest and cutting edge research, but some basic health and fitness guidelines still hold. So just drink up!
