M&M collectibles seem to be a lukewarm market on eBay. Yes, it's true that many M&M collectibles do sell. For example, the pin below is one of a lot of 100 collectible pins that sold for $119. This lot of pins is sold by someone who refers to themselves as "eBay's largest wholesaler" so we can suppose that the buyer plans on reselling the pins, one by one, on some particular website, or even eBay.

In general, though, M&M are not collectibles that bring high prices, although bidding is moderately successful. There are sales like these:

In general, though, competition is stiffer than demand - a scenario we definitely don't want. Today, (summer, 2004) there are 12,383 eBay stores with M&M items for sale and 160,059 actual items listed. The Market Research Wizard {which is now part of the comprehensive & excellent program known as One Source) shows a success probability of only 25%.

It has been years since I have listed an item for sale on eBay, and it has not sold. The reason for this success is simple - I do my homework! What this means is that I research my products and their supply and demand before wasting my time and money on futile efforts.

Conclusion: M&M collectibles are not a product line that I would sell. The balance of supply and demand is weighted too far in favor of the buyer. There isn't enough profit to make it worthwhile.
