Indoor Bonsai Plants: Outdoor Bonsai Plants Not As Popular As Indoor
Selling outdoor and indoor bonsai plants on eBay may be an excellent idea for expanding your already existing eBay plant store’s offer or expanding already existing bonsai business onto the Internet.

Building it from scratch, however, may prove to be difficult, so even indoor bonsai plants (quite popular gift for corporate managers) are not a dream eBay ware.
There are several reasons for this ...
1. Growing (or getting) bonsai trees:
You simply need to have a reliable and cheap source of your wares. Even with relatively popular kinds of indoor bonsai plants, you will quickly face a difficult choice – either you’ll buy wholesale and will have to spend extra resources on keeping the trees alive and healthy until you sell them or you won’t be able to keep your prices low enough.

The more logical solution would be starting growing indoor bonsai plants yourself – but then you’ll have to spend even more time and resources on preparing your wares to sell.
Both ways it may work, but you won’t be able to concentrate on creating your eBay selling strategy. 2. Shipment problems, return policies and bonsai plants:
Another things you’ll have to deal with are limited shipment options. Even the most popular and hardened indoor bonsai plants are still only plants. They need special care and they surely can’t spend weeks in some post office, like books from Amazon.com.
Special shipments increase the price and limit the number of potential customers (forget about going worldwide).
What is even more irritating, you will have to spend a lot of time on your return policy. It is quite probable that there’ll be some returns when the customer will have problems with telling who’s fault is this – yours or delivery company. Remember that even the sturdiest indoor bonsai plants can die without water – and you will have hard time proving that it wasn’t your fault.

The solution: insist upon very fast shipment! And over time, your experience will prove to you which of the major carriers is the most efficient at delivering your delicate trees on time. Honestly, if I were selling bonsai trees, I would think long and hard about my return policy. "I changed my mind" or "I don't like it" simply isn't sufficient reason for me. Like any business, selling indoor bonsai trees on eBay has its problems, but demand is so incredibly strong that they are worth figuring out if you wish to sell in this market.
