Nautical curtains can be made of almost every kinds of material, so they can be used as window curtains or shower curtains or even draperies to hide some elements of furnishing or design.
Which kind of nautical curtain will be the best?
When you want to have nautical curtains, you should first consider where you want to hang them. They will look great in your kitchen or bathroom windows, they are also suitable for the kids room.
Still, even if you dream every night about being a pirate, it is not the best idea to change your living room into a ship cabin - unless you want your friends to take you as an eccentric! :-) |
There are two types of nautical curtains:
First are curtains with patterns like ships, waves, anchors or sea maps. They have no special finishing and are best for the kids’ room. Don’t advertise them as “generally good idea” curtains!

Then there are curtains where the pattern is not important, but the finishing is. Usually they came in sets with specially made pins or even hemp-made rings used for hanging the nautical curtain. Such curtains are made from organic fibers, usually linen or hemp. They look best in a country style kitchen or bathroom, not only in the kids’ rooms.
