Bratz dolls, unlike older dolls like Barbies and Cabbage Patch Kids, have no long history as favorite toys or collectibles. Nevertheless, their price has astonished eBay sellers and the Bratz collection was one of the 'super hits' of the 2003 holiday season.

Much of the recent money in Bratz dolls has been in accessories. The copy from the auction above (5 gowns for $190.50) says: "You get all FIVE fabulous GOWNS from the Formal Funk series of Bratz dolls for ONE LOW PRICE!! This opportunity does NOT come along very often and it would be an unbelievable Christmas gift for your Bratz fan!!! These are high quality dresses here. Fine fabrics...silk, satin, organza, lace...sparkles...what MORE could you want??"

Apparently buyers agreed with this seller and spent money freely to buy the Bratz gowns for Cloe, Dana, Jayde, Sasha and Yasmin.

Some dolls derive their value from the fact that they are old and rare, and the Bratz dolls are too new to make such claims. As we can see above, their prices are quite high for newcomers.

The market for Bratz dolls is only going to grow as they are around for a while and older editions become more valuable. What a great eBay product!
