Chanel Cosmetics: Cosmetics From Chanel Are Affordable On eBay

Chanel cosmetics are highly sought-after, and since the popularity of the Internet has soared, they are easier to find. Especially on eBay.

Since Chanel's death, there are cosmetics and perfumes that have been invented by her heirs and the company that bears her name, but some of them came from the genius, herself, and are 100% her work. The most famous cosmetics are, naturally enough, her fragrances since many of them were created by her and some of the most popular are:

Chanel No. 5:

This is probably the best known perfume in the world and certainly the best known of all of Chanel scents. It was one of the first “artificial” fragrances that didn’t strive to emulate an already existing flower smell, but was trying to make a fragrance that had never existed before.

Chance:

Another well known member of Chanel perfume’ family, Chance has been created for younger, brave and energetic women. Both the fragrance and the advertising campaign around it emphasize the energy arising from seizing the fleeing moment. As its famous slogan says: “One world was ending and a new one was about to be born. I happened to be there; a chance came my way and I took it”.

Allure:

One of newer Chanel cosmetic fragrances, Allure, resigns from traditional top-middle-base notes in favor of 6 different fragrance’s “facets” that are to be tasted at the same time. The result of this experimentation is very promising: Allure is mysterious and… alluring.

Coco:

This is the first fragrance of Jacques Polge, created in 1978. Coco Chanel cosmetics’ and other products’ line was first mostly a kind of memorial of Coco Chanel, but they quickly became one of must-have for haute couture. The fragrance itself has strong Eastern notes, eased a little by Sicilian mandarins and Tunisian orange blossoms that form its top note.

No. 19:

The second “numbered” of Chanel cosmetics, No. 19 was introduced over 40 years after No. 5, the best known Chanel fragrance. Everyone was sure that No. 19 would be unable to keep up with the reputation on Chanel “numbers”, but the fragrance had been able to cope with that and it soon achieved a reputation of its own.

Now none of these cosmetics are inexpensive. But sellers can take heart because the discounts abound on eBay. For instance, let's look at this eBay auction - and then compare the price with the Chanel website:

The size of the eBay bottle is much larger than the bottle from the Chanel site, making it an instant hit with buyers and making these kinds of famous cosmetic fragrances available to the rest of us rather than reserving it for only wealthy women. With discounts like these, almost anyone can afford a Chanel perfume if they want it badly enough.

From the perspective of an eBay seller, it's a great deal! Notice the number of bids on this perfume: 23! Clearly there is heavy demand for Chanel products.
