Doll makers that sell well on eBay are a mixed lot. There are doll manufacturers that are quite popular, and there are doll makers with individual names, like Lee Middleton or Madame Alexander, that sell well. So, let's examine the first group.

Vogue dolls sell well, as evidenced by this lot of dolls that sold for $4,000 and had 31 bids. There were obviously numerous dolls in this collection, which included all of their doll clothing. Most mentions of Vogue dolls on eBay brought large numbers of interested lookers. As an example, a Cinderella and Prince Charming pair sold for $575.

Often companies, rather than individuals, are quite popular. For example, Volland dolls, from the P. F. Volland Company which made the first Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls from 1920 to 1934, are sought after. Or more currently, the Franklin Mint and Durham Mint dolls sell well.

Doll makers rack up sales with dolls modeled on popular characters like Shirley Temple, Elvis, the Beatles, Peter Pan, Scarlett O'Hara and Princess Diana.

Individual doll designers bring sales, like Krammer Reinhardt/Simon Halbig and Ruth Treffeisen sell well, as do unusual dolls, like the three member witches coven below which went for $306.99

There were 4,043 doll sales on eBay in the past 30 days, with a combined sales price of over $50,000. Clearly doll makers are popular on eBay!
