Vintage Chanel Handbags: Ensure That Your Chanel Handbag Is Truly Vintage

It’s not difficult to find authentic vintage Chanel handbags on eBay and buying them is relatively easy, provided that you know how to defend yourself against copies. While in case of some other brand name products it may be quite difficult, all vintage Chanel handbags have enough hard-to-fake features that it’s almost impossible to fool anyone who knows where to look.

If you have any doubts if vintage Chanel handbags offered you via e-Bay are authentic, please check the following:

1. Interior labels:

All vintage Chanel handbags have one of the following labels on the inside: gold or silver Chanel stamp, embossed Chanel logo, rectangular leather label with Chanel sign in gold or silver, oval label with embossed Chanel logo, black label with Chanel in white color or black label with vertical lines. If there is no label or it doesn’t fall into any of these categories, a vintage Chanel handbag you’re looking at is only a fake.

2. Serial number:

All Chanel products that have been made since 1990s, including all vintage Chanel handbags, have a serial number sticker with seven or eight digit code. It must match these from the authenticity card. Of course getting the card along with the handbag you’re about to buy is an absolute must to do.

3. Zipper pull:

All (not only vintage) Chanel handbags have logo (Chanel or CC) zipper pulls. There are no Chanel handbags that lack them.

4. CC logo:

When checking the details of vintage Chanel handbags, make sure you’ve taken closer look at the CC logo. The top portion of the right C must overlap the top portion of the left C and the bottom portion of the left C must overlap the bottom portion of the right C, just as in the picture below, directly from an eBay auction. Most fakes have their logos non-overlapping or doing it in other ways than described above.

If you look for these features, you will be able to tell if your vintage Chanel handbag is truly authentic, and not a replica. If you have any doubt as a buyer, insist upon using an escrow service. As a seller, you are involving yourself in some very profitable transactions and although there aren't thousands of buyers clamoring for these bags, you can make a great deal of money on only one auction. This is much easier than listing hundreds of low-priced items just to earn the same profits as one genuine handbag.
